Journey through the sacred cycles — a timeless heritage woven in moonlight
What is the Hijri Calendar?
The Islamic Hijri calendar is a purely lunar calendar of 12 months totalling 354–355 days. It began with the Prophet Muhammad's ﷺ migration (Hijra) from Makkah to Madinah in 622 CE — the moment that redefined history.
Every Hijri month begins with the sighting of the new crescent moon. Because the lunar year is ~11 days shorter than the solar year, Islamic events gradually cycle through all seasons over roughly 33 years.

Times are approximate — calculated from astronomical angles. The Karachi / HEC method (Fajr & Isha at 18° below horizon) is the standard for Pakistan and South Asia. Asr follows the Shafi'i/Hanbali shadow factor (1×). Always verify with your local mosque — actual times may vary by 1–3 minutes.
